Simple Plug & Play alarm, fits almost every Yamaha motorcycle fitted with the YISS immobiliser system (list below). Full fitting can usually be done within 30 minutes
Special version of the Meta Defcom3.1b Thatcham approved motorcycle alarm system supplied with a plug and play wiring loom (YLM4) for a number of late model Yamaha Motorcycles. In many cases this alarm can be fitted within 30 minutes using the supplied plug & play wiring loom. This kit will upgrade most Yamaha bikes fitted with the YISS system to Thatcham Category 1 status (the bike's must be fitted with the two small alarm plugs), if Thatcham upgrade status is required the optional seat sensor must be chosen (Blank Thatcham certificate not supplied when kit is not supplied with the seat sensor)

Most bikes fitted with the Y.I.S.S. or Yamaha Ignition Security System have the two white alarm plugs fitted. If in doubt inspect the battery area or behind the side panels to see if the two alarm plugs are fitted (see photos below), if the plugs are not fitted the standardDefcomT will need to be hard wired (bike's wiring info supplied - if available).

| Does the alarm have to be fitted by an authorised person for the insurance company to recognise it? | Technically yes the alarm needs to be fitted by an approved fitter for it to be Thatcham approved. We can authorise the certificate providing the alarm is fitted to Thatcham standards which includes the fitting of the seat sensor switch, the bike needs to be brought to us here in South London for inspection |
| I have a Yamaha model ???? manufactured in ???? can you confirm the plugs are fitted to my bike? | It is impossible to guess which bike is fitted with the plugs, they can be fitted on one production line of the bike & not fitted on the next production line, one month they are fitted the next not, the plugs can be fitted in different areas on bikes manufactured on the same production line at different times or bikes manufactured for different markets, not even the Yamaha importers know which bikes have the plugs fitted. If fitted the connectors could be anywhere below the seat area including the area around the rear light or under the rear of the petrol tank, they could be behind the side panels and be hidden inside a rubber boot or cover or could just be hanging loose. Basically if you cannot find them they are probably not be fitted & the alarm will have to be hard wired to the bike Please do not order the plug & play alarm until you have found the plugs |

On some production lines these alarm plugs were not fitted, on other runs they were even if the production lines were in the same year.
