Plug and Play Defcom3.1b alarm kit for Many KTM motorcycles making fitting a breeze (Also known as the Defcom4 sold in the EU). This alarm is the factory option on many KTM motorcycles. The kit comes with our basic fitting kit which includes a plug-in seat sensor, cable ties & Velcro mounting pads, (the KTM fitting kit available directly form KTM, not necessary unless you want originality) Also included are two fobs have been pre-coded, alarm beeps activated & the sleep timer has been extended to 21 days (more info below)
This kit is supplied with the latest version of the Defcom alarm series, the Defcom3.1b (Not Defcom3), this unit encompasses Bluetooth technology allowing the use of a ID Tag remote fob, this allows the alarm to automatically arm & dis-arm without having to use the fob, as long as the ID Tag is within 10 metres of the alarm unit. This unit functions in exactly the same way as the earlier DefcomT & Defcom3 models when used without the ID Tag remote fob. Choose above to upgrade one of the standard fobs to the ID tag unit.
This kit includes two remote fobs pre-programmed to the alarm (including the ID'tag if chosen), the alarm is also programmed to be fully 'awake' for up to 360 hours (15 days), this means if you arm the alarm it will enter sleep mode after 15 days or if the battery falls below a set level. The alarm will also be preprogrammed to beep when arming & disarming via the fobs. This service is included with all the Defcom3.1b's supplied by Abacus Car Alarms.
As standard & supplied by most other dealers all Defom3.1bs are preprogrammed to be awake for a maximum of 120 hours (5 Days), once 5 days have elapsed the alarm will shut down, should someone attempt to steal or move the bike the alarm will not sound. The alarm will be silent on arm/disarm.Programming the fobs must be done when powering up the alarm for the first time, if this programming period has been missed a slightly complicated proceedure will be required to code them in. The beep on arm & disarm can be programmed by the owner, however the sleep timing period can only be programmed by a dealer using special equipment.
ID Tag Option:
If choosing the ID Tag the 'Auto Arm' option above can also be added & will function seamlessly with the ID Tag (Auto-Arm option can also be added if using the standard fobs, but the alarm will need to disarmed every time you want to move or use the bike - can be put into service mode so the alarm will not interfere when servicing the vehicle), the alarm will automatically disarm when the Tag is within 10 metres of the alarm unit. Please note if the alarm is armed by pressing either the standard fob or ID tag button it will also need to be disarmed using the button, it will not automatically disarm even when using the ID Tag. When using the Tag button there is usually a 3 secound delay, this is normal, when using the Tag normally there will be no such delay, there is no delay when using the standard fobs.
If choosing the ID Tag option we recomend you choose the AutoArm feature in the 'Programable Options', this will allow seamless operation of the alarm when using the Tag.
The ID tag can only be added when ordering a new Defcom3.1b, if required at a later date the alarm unit complete with all fobs will need to be returned to us for re-programming, (extra charges will be incured)

Optional KTM LED Adapter Loom:
This kit uses the standard KTM LED fitted in the dash, unfortunately for many models KTM have designed the circuitry in such a way that the LED blinks very dimly & cannot clearly be seen in daylight hours, not much better during the night. We now offer a LED adapter loom to which you can add an external LED, choose either the easy fit or bezel super bright LED (10mm hole will need to be drilled for the bezel type). The loom also adds the benefit of an extra alarm input (can be used for external panniers etc - make switch required) plus an extra output for a siren or pager, this wire outputs a -12V @100ma voltage when the alarm is sounding.

The DefCom will directly fit the Adventure 990, the Supermoto 990, the RC8 & 125 Duke. The RC8 requires the resistor pack (not supplied with this kit) for the indicators to flash, this is cheaply available from KTM part No. 69012035050.We can supply the factory fitting instructions for the RC8, 990 Adventure & 990 Supermoto, please enter which guide you require in the comments section on the checkout page.
This DefCom kit will not directly fit the plug of the Superduke 990, the Supermoto 950 & the Supermoto 690 which were designed to plug directly into the Gemel E587 alarm which is identical to the Meta M357T, both these alarms are no longer available however we can now supply the DefComT which comes with a adapter loom enabling it to directly connect to the plug fitted to these bikes, for more info click here
